Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq the Pakistani test captain has made the nation proud again; This time he won the ICC Spirit of the Cricket Award at 2016 ICC Awards. Misbah has now become the first ever Pakistani captain to win this award.

While talking to media, Misbah-ul-Haq said, “I feel honored and humbled to have won the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award. To lift the Test mace earlier this year and now this in the twilight of my career is a message for every athlete that age is not a barrier as long as the sportsperson maintains highest fitness levels and continues to perform up to international standards.

Misbah makes cricket team proud again; celebrations in Christchurch

In 2015, Brendon McCullum,  the captain of Newzealand cricket team had won this award. Katherine Brunt from England won this award in 2014, Mahela Jayawardena from Sri Lanka won in 2013, Daniel Vettori from Newzealand in 2012 and Daniel Vettori won the same title in 2011.

At the ICC Awards, The David Shepherd Trophy for ICC umpire 2016 went to the South Africa’s Marais Erasmus. Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar had won this title from 2099 to 2011.
