5 books to indulge yourself in this summer!

Books! A reader’s best friend, and a world you can get lost in. I’m the type of a person who gets carefree of the surroundings while reading a book.

My biggest nightmare is exam season which just past this April. I was required to read course books while I was craving a novel instead. As soon as I was finished with my finals, I rushed off to Readings to buy new books for nourishing my mind with new stories again. My addiction to books is somehow the same as a smoker’s addiction to cigarettes.

The following are five books which are incredibly easy to understand, and I found them to be wonderful as summer reads. I hope you enjoy reading them too!

This one book was extremely attention grabbing, and I couldn’t stay away from it even for a single minute! I loved it so much that I finished it in two sittings something I’ve never done that before.

This story is about an old man, Eddie, who passes away on his 85th birthday. He goes to heaven and meets five people, who either had an impact on his life, or he affected theirs.

2. ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Moyes:

This book is for those who would love to read a romantic and at the same time, a heartbreaking story.

“Me Before You” is the story of a woman, Louisa, who meets a man and her whole life suddenly changes. This book was even produced into a movie, which was a hit. It will take you through an emotional rollercoaster, so get ready to shed a few tears.

3. THE KITE RUNNER by Khalid Hosseini:

If you’re looking for something aside love stories, but want to read a book which will show you real bonding between two friends, the Kite Runner is for you.

It is based in Afghanistan and is a story about two young boys who live and grow up together, however, get separated due to unfortunate circumstances. One boy is a Sunni Muslim, while the other boy is a Hazara. This tale depicts the difference of loyalty and level of faithfulness between the two.

4. CURTAIN POIROT’S LAST CASE by Agatha Christie:

This book will grab the attention of crime and mystery-loving readers. Agatha Christie is the master of detective novels.

Curtain is Hercule Poirot’s last case, where he reunites with Hastings after a long break, and they follow up a murder case. Find out the end of Hercule Poirot, and enjoy the plot twists in this book.

5. MILK AND HONEY By Rupi Kaur:

Milk and Honey is a book of poetry which is divided into four different phases of life and relationships. It is beautiful but heart-wrenching, almost anyone who reads this book will be able to relate to it.

I suggest this as a night read, a book you read before going to bed.
