Anti-Nawaz slogans at PSL final make media channels to terminate live stream

PSL 2017 Final at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore went political when a group from the audience started chanting anti-government slogans shouting Go Nawaz Go during the address of PSL Chairman Najam Sethi.

Media channels like state-owned PTV and others terminated their live streaming to prevent the airing of such anti-government slogans.

Go Nawaz Go slogan that became popular during the PTI’s movement against the alleged election rigging echoed from the Gaddafi Stadium at the moment when Najam Sethi thanked CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif made arrangements to hold the event as scheduled despite security threats.

Every Pakistani wanted to experience the thrill of final in home ground watching international players playing in their country. But still many opposed the idea of PSL 2017 final in Lahore after the recent terror attacks.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan had termed the decision as madness citing that holding a match under stringent security measures is very foolish and by no means a way to send a message to the world regarding the proper image of Pakistan.

Najam Sethi was also criticized by the fans who had to stand in the long queues for buying PSL final tickets and ran out of the budget to purchase expensive passes. Despite, facing such difficulties cricket lovers exhibited immense enthusiasm and made to the Gaddafi Stadium for feasting upon a nail-biting contest between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi which is in progress at the moment.
