Fake audio clip of plane crash; Pemra issues notice to the channel

Fake audio clip of plane crash

PEMRA has issued the show cause notice to the channel 24 for playing the fake audio clip of the plane crash. Channel had played the audio clip where passengers could be heard crying in the aircraft before the accident and showed that clip belonged to PIA plane PK 661, that was crashed near Havelian, Dec 7.

In its notice, Pemra has demanded channel to answer whether the clip was real or not if it was true then channel should provide proof of it while revealing the details how it managed to get the clip.

Same sort of clip was also roaming on social media too. The clip emerged even before the black box was yet to be discovered. One could easily see that it was a fake clip and belonged to some other incident, not to the PIA OK 661 Plane crash.

Many social media users also claimed that fake clip was taken from a plane of Etihad Airlines from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta as the aircraft was in the very stressful situation. Finally, it landed safely, the incident had happened in May 2016.

The social media users had also criticised such fake clips as they just offended the public.
