China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the future of Pakistan which will provide significant economic growth and prosperity to the nation. To further strengthen the idea, the Pakistani government has allowed a private company to operate passenger bus service between Pakistan and China.
North-South Transport Network Pvt Ltd company is all set to launch bus service between Lahore and Kashgar, China on November 3rd while the passengers can book their tickets either from Lahore or Islamabad.
“We are going to provide international standard passenger service where our key focus will be on the foolproof security and an exceptionally comfortable journey,” exclaimed CEO of the company, Mr. Muhammad Anwar, speaking to Outlook Pakistan.
Is it Affordable?
Yes, indeed it is compared to the expensive air travel. The following are the ticket pricing:
- The ticket price of a one-way journey to Kashgar from Lahore is Rs. 13,000
- While the two-way ticket will cost Rs. 23,000
The breathtaking views of Pakistani northern areas while traveling on one of the wonders of the world, the Karakoram Highway, will be an extra bonus.
Note here that the bookings have already commenced and the company is dispensing free breakfast coupons for the November 3rd departure, so if you plan to embark on China tour, don’t forget to ask for the coupons.
How to Book a Ticket?
For now, You can book a ticket by visiting company’s Facebook page as their website is down due to undeclared reasons. “We are working on our online portal, hopefully within two to three days it will be accessible,” said Mr. Anwar.
The company vowed that all the necessary details will be provided on their online portal, once functional while the payments will be received at the time of boarding.
Again, the required documents will be stated to you via email when you ask for a booking but obviously Valid Visa, CNIC, Passport will be mandatory.
20 kg of weight will be allowed per ticket while the ticket price only includes the travel expense. The procurement of visa and other amenities like meals and hotel stay will be the responsibility of the passengers themselves. However, the company asserted to provide as much assistance as possible to the valued passengers.
This is the most interesting part, the bus route is so mesmerizing that you will remember the spectacular sightseeing for the rest of your life.
The bus will depart from Lahore, most probably at 12 am. After picking up passengers from Islamabad, the bus will head to Mansehra, KP where passengers can buy breakfast. En-route Karakoram highway, next stops will be Besham, Chelas, and then dinner at Gilgit. Crossing Sost, and then custom clearances at Khunjerab pass, the bus will drop off passengers at Kashgar (Tashkurgan county).
The inception of the first bus service between both countries will not only allow businesspeople, investors, and students to explore new opportunities but it will also fetch tourists from both sides. It will be the beginning of a new era where the citizens of friendly countries will come more closer and relish each others culture, food, and norms.
