Session Court has issued the detailed decision regarding the child abuse case involving the renown TV anchor Gharida Farooqi.
As we previously reported earlier, the host of current affair show G for Gharidah was accused of child abuse when she illegally detained her house maid Sonia, 15, at her home.
Muhammad Munir, Sonia’s father filed a petition with the Session Court on Monday, demanding the release of her daughter and legal action against Gharida Farooqi.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Hafeezur Rehman Chaudhry immediately took action on the complaint and directed the SHO of Sundar police to recover the child and produce her before the court.
Soon after the order, the police produced the child before the court which was later handed over to her parents on the directions of the judge.
Before the recovery of the child maid, the audio recording of call conversation allegedly between Gharida Farooqi and a woman named Shazia made were widely circulated on the Internet where the latter accused Gharida of torturing Sonia and refusing to let her meet with her family.
According to various rumors, Express TV has fired the TV anchor amid the controversy. Gharida Farooqi has been off the air for quite some time and according to our sources, she will not be appearing on the TV channel in the future.
