The very First Ad of PTI featuring the developmental projects in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) is just out, and it seems to be quite in the competition for the PMLN government.
Ironically, the PTI is doing the same things for which it criticizes the PMLN. The dominated party in Punjab doesn’t let a chance to advertise every single development project lavishly. At times, a huge proportion of a project’s cost is spent on advertisement expenditures. Every new initiative comes up with banners and billboards featuring the Khadim-e-Aala, now the PTI is following the same suit.
As the elections are approaching the competition of making ads and marketing the projects (whether they exist or not) is also increasing. In all this race no one is gaining benefit other than the advertising companies and the TV channels who have to play those ads.
If we see the very nature of First AD by the PTI, then it seems quite similar to those that PMLN often makes. The very slogan “we have changed the Punjab, we would change Pakistan,” has converted into the “we have changed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
So, we reserve the right to question PTI, where is the real revolution, you are even imitating your opponents in the sense of making ads even.
One thing is evident, as the election season approaches we will feast upon some new advertising jingles on behalf of both the parties.
