The world’s fattest female from Egypt would undergo the weight loss surgery in India. Iman Ahmed Abdulati the lady who never left her home in Alexandria, Egypt in last 25 years would travel to Mumbai India.
Iman who has the weight of approximately 500 Kg is suffering from the disease elephantiasis, At the time of birth, she weighed five Kgs, and the disease that is a parasitic infection caused her limbs to swell.
Earlier the visa application of Iman was rejected by the Indian Embassy in Cairo because the applicant was too fat to travel on her own. Later, Dr Mufazzal Lakdawala, who would operate Iman, contacted the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj via twitter and requested her to allow the patient to travel on the medical visa.
The foreign minister replied and ensured to help the parties on this matter,

Later, the Indian Embassy granted the Visa to Iman allowing her to travel to India.

According to Dr Lakadwala, the Iman became bedridden at the age of 11 following a paralysis attack. After this she could not make a move outside her home and continued to gain weight due to the disease, Dr Lakadwal is one of the highly qualified bariatric surgeons in the world. He thinks that after undergoing the weight loss surgery, they would be able to bring Iman’s weight down to 400 Kg.
