Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has made to the list of top 10 batsmen in the recent rankings issued by ICC (International Cricket Council). He has moved five points higher than his previous ranking.
Babar Azam has also become the first player to score the century in Australia after the Zaheer Abbas who did this in 1981. He did an outstanding performance in the 5th ODI against Australia, but Pakistan failed to win the match due to poor fielding.

In the recent ICC ranking of the best batsmen for One day format, Australian batsman David Warner is in the top position. South African captain AB de Villiers occupies second place, on third lies the Indian captain Virat Kohli, on number fourth is the South African wicket keeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, number five is held by the Kane Williamson of New Zealand, Joe Root of England is on number sixth, South African batsman Hashim Amla is on number seventh, Australian captain Steven Smith lies on number eight, and Martin Guptill of the New Zealand is on number nine position. With this Babar Azam is also the only Pakistani batsman who has made it to top 10.
