Delhi Police arrested the Harminder Singh Mintoo the accused chief of Khalistan Liberation Force, who managed to escape from Nabha Jail in District Patiala. The militant leader had dared to flee the jail after a group of 10 gunmen stormed the prison and helped the Mintoo to escape along with four other inmates from his group.

Harminder Singh was arrested for more than Police  10 cases against him, which included the plot of assassination and being involved in many anti-state conspiracies.

Mintoo had decided to live with a relative in Dehli, after reaching Dehli he called his family and that was intercepted, this directly informed police about Mintoo’s location and he was rearrested.

Vice Chief Minister and Interior Minister of Indian Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal has remarked that Pakistan could be behind the recent attempt of jailbreak and escape of Harminder Singh Mintoo.

It is not the first time Indian side has accused Pakistan of provoking the and aiding the Khalistan movement in India.

In Indian Punjab very strong proponents of Khalistan are there who truly want a separate homeland for Sikhs. Even the Sikh political leaders again highlighted this agenda during the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan.
