Saudi Prince Majid bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud lost $359 million and five wives in six hours while playing poker at a casino. This is such a disgrace to Saudi Royal family and Muslims that Prince Majid in the sacred month of Ramzan couldn’t resist himself from getting involved in disgusting activities. Prince Majid is known for his bad track record of gambling and drug habits but pawning the wives is a new low.
While spending the week at Sinai Grand Casino of Egypt, the Saudi Prince spent six hours at the unlimited stakes poker table and had an inconceivable losing streak. As a result, he lost hundreds of millions of dollars but still the part of his debt was not being covered, so he was forced to give up five of his wives to which he agreed. The Prince pawned five of his nine wives for $25 million credit and left them at the casino after losing them. This is such a big shame to humanity that women still in the modern era are being sold out to others as an object. One should think twice while selling an animal and this great Prince didn’t mind losing his wives. Shamoon Ali, the director of the casino, said, “This isn’t the first time that a customer bets a living creature. We often have camels and horses, but usually, customers pay to keep them. This is the first time that a player leaves his wives after he loses.”
Pawning and selling of women used to be a common practice in old ages, but today it is considered as extreme shame. Selling of women should be declared as a henious crime all over the world, and severe punishment should be proposed for it. Though this practice is now rare in the world, it is still practiced in some parts, which is unfortunate. It is still not confirmed that what will happen to the wives of Prince. The experts were of the view that maybe the Saudi Royal Family will buy them back by paying a handsome amount and if not, then they will be sold at auction in few months in Yemen or Qatar.
However, this isn’t the first time that Saudi Prince Majid has been found doing something unethical. In 2015, he was found accused of having a sexual relationship with a male aide, taking cocaine, threatening to kill a woman who refused his advances and also sexually assaulting a maid.
