Among the Pakistani celebrities who left us in 2016, death of the world famous philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi is a huge loss not only for Pakistan but also for humanity. His ambulance service, which is the largest in the world consists of 1800 ambulances. At the time of his death, he was registered as the guardian of almost 20,000 children. The man who spent his entire life supporting the poor, helpless and underprivileged people of society with his Edhi Foundation died on 8th July 2016.
Amjad Sabri the famous Sufi singer and Qawal was shot dead in Karachi on 22 June 2016. He was only 39 years old at the time of his assassination. His famous Qawalis “Bhar Do Jholi” and “Tajdar e Haram “are loved by the music lovers entire the globe. The death of Amjad Sabri not only created a vacuum for Pakistani celebrities but also deprived the world of a music genre that was only his specialty.
The departing 2016 also took with it an iconic Pakistani star Junaid Jamshed along with 46 innocent people in a plane crash. On December 7, we lost a singer, a philanthropist, a religious scholar and also a conservationist. As a religious scholar, Junaid Jamshed was not like an orthodox Mullah, but he taught to live a well-balanced life between religion and the World.
The Pakistani celebrities from the sports field have also witnessed a loss in the form of Shahlyla Ahmedzai Baloch’s death. The striker of Pakistani women football team died at the age of 20 in a car accident in DHA Karachi. The football player had presented Pakistan last time in the SouthAsian Football Federation Women Championship held in 2014 in Islamabad. In SAFF Women’s Championship 2014 Shaylala played a significant role in contributing to the victory of her team against Bhutan. In the home circuit, she had represented the Football United FC.

The girl who made her dream of becoming famous and a celebrity real with the help of social media. Although, coming from a poor background Qandeel was able to rise and live the life according to her through the very power of social media. The lady stood courageously to the face of criticism and labeled herself as a social media entertainer. Fauzia Azeem known as Qandeel Baloch was murdered by her brother in the name of honor killing on 15 July 2016.
