IPL franchise KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) has denied reports claiming that it is going to play any series against PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi on some neutral venue.

In a tweet, KKR stated that no such communication happened at our end.

Earlier media reports claimed that Raees star Shahrukh Khan who is the co-owner of KKR had offered Javed Afridi, the owner of PSL season II champion Peshawar Zalmi, to organize three series tournament between their teams at a neutral venue.

KKR CEO Venky Mysore told India today that “There is absolutely no truth in it. We categorically deny this.”

Mysore also informed that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t even know about any such Leagues happening in Pakistan or Dubai.

He said, “I just had a word with Shah Rukh, and he told me that he has been so busy shooting these days that he didn’t even know that any such league was happening in Pakistan or Dubai let alone calling any franchise owner and congratulating him on winning the tournament.”

Now when KKR rebutted any such claims, Javed Afridi has backtracked from his statement and stated on Twitter that any such news are false and these were merely a speculation.

Many social media users harshly criticized Javed Afridi for his earlier statement that he gave to media regarding Shahrukh Khan congratulating him and offering series with his team. They also asked his why he didn’t rebut such reports before and defied them only after KKR and Indian media thrashed them.
