Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has started mockery of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir by issuing power outages plan for the industrial feeders during Ramadan.

The notification issued by the LESCO to the industrial consumers of various feeders warned them of not using their industrial connections during 18:30 to 4:00 hours during Ramadan. The notice stated that if anyone found violating the orders will face disconnection of the connection during the whole holy month of Ramzan.

LESCO notification Ramadan

The notification itself is self-explanatory about the vulnerability of power supplies in the country. The LESCO officials admit the power shortfall and pressure on the distribution network system which is causing them to adopt such harsh measures for industrial consumers. Contrary to the accepting of facts by the LESCO, the PML-N leadership including Prime Minister, Finance, and Commerce Ministers who are claiming of full power supply to the industrial consumers are exposed with a little notice of a distribution company, LESCO.

The LESCO admitted that the usage of industrial connection is illegal and violation of law during the timings mentioned above in order to ensure smooth power supply to domestic consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.

This is good news for the domestic consumers that at least once in the year they are becoming a priority for the government as well as LESCO. This could not be wrong that it is the blessing of Ramadan.

However, for domestic consumers, it is a blessing, but for industrial customers, it is a dream which is horrific? It is very evident that at least one shift will not work due to this forced non-usage of industrial connection which will result in the lay-off of the workers in the holy month. The question arises how these laid-off workers will celebrate the Eid and observe Ramadan when they do not have any work and earn nothing.

This exposes the vulnerability of the power situation in the country and false claims of the government.
