WOW, Panama leaks episode is getting complicated and dirty after every hearing. Panama leaks case in court showing us the real face of political corruption in Pakistan. And it expands itself to the business sphere in Pakistan; it is showing us that how this elite saves their black money.
“Do you understand the implication of the document?” Justice Khosa asked, pointing at Mr Sheikh.
In the latest hearing, Sharif family presented a letter from Qatar, by new lawyer Akram Sheikh. Firstly why the PML-N changed the lawyer? What was the issue with the previous one? Now about the letter, this letter is dated 5th November but not presented in the previous hearing, perhaps the former lawyer was in senses and knew the consequences it had.
Letter from Qatar has opened a new Pandora box, caused much defame to PML-N and Sharif family and thickens the panamagate case.
Why they did not present this letter in previous months, if not letter why they didn’t even tell anyone that the flats get a link from Qatar? Why it came now, out of the blue, like a rabbit from Akram’s hat?
“This document has completely changed the public stand of the prime minister,” Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
First and before all this letter is addressed by Prince of Qatar, Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani, who is stating that, in the year 1980, “Mian Sharif expressed his desire to invest a certain amount of money in real estate business of Al Thani family in Qatar,”. The letter states that Hamad’s father — Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani — had “longstanding business relations with Mian Mohammad Sharif”. Ok, so Prince never was in the deal at first place but is so keen to write a letter in the November of this year. Hearsay evidence is no evidence.
By the way, this prince has also got his name in the same Panama leaks. So are they partners in crime SAVING EACH OTHER BACKS? Perhaps yes.
The situation is so funny and outrageous. Whole PML-N and the Sharif family is confused regarding the statements made about these flats. Everybody has his or her version.

Here are some contradictory verdicts:
- Kulsoom Nawaz gave an interview in 2000 saying they got the apartments for their children’s education.
- Chaudhry Nisar stated that they got them in the ’90s.
- Khawaja Asif said that they got them in the ’90s.
- Siddique Farooq said he went there in the ’90s.
- On May 16, Nawaz Sharif claimed that the London luxury flats had been purchased with the money earned from the sale of Jeddah Steel Mills.
- Maryam Safdar ( Former Maryam Nawaz) stated in 2011 that neither she nor her brothers possess any property in London.
- Zaeem Qadri said in the program off the record that Sharif had bought this property in 60’s.
And here is the video, sharif’s son is saying that there is no flat as 16A in the whole building.

So to whom we acknowledge? But it’s a fact that now the lawyer has submitted this letter from Qatar to the court, so it’s the part of the proceeding. Now Sharif’s and their courtiers will not be able to shift their stances anymore. It’s clear that they assume the public as stooges who will accept any verdict and vote for them whatsoever. Will we?
