Though CM Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif claims his government to be corruption free but the statements of opposition leader of Punjab contradict his claims absolutely.
Recently, the opposition leader of Punjab Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed along with other members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a press conference come up with serious scandals and allegations against Punjab Government.
Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed in a press conference at Chairman Secretariat, Garden Town, Lahore, stated that about more than 22 billion rupees have been paid to the Daewoo while Rs.16 billion was announced to be allocated.
Clean water project corruption
It was further stated that about 2.5 billion rupees have been allotted for the clean water project in the budget but its details have not been mentioned. Also, 116 filtration plants have been planted in the city, out of which sixty are out of order, forty provide contaminated water and only sixteen are working properly.
Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed further said that about Rs.130 billion have been declared to be constituted for the clean water project in the budget, but later Rs.190 billion get allocated by the Government in the budget for clean water after firing the former team of the project.
About Rs.20 lacs of filtration plants have been planted by Punjab Government in more than 10 million rupees. The Jamat-e-Islami and some other welfare foundations have planted the same filtration plants in nearly Rs.20 lacs only then how the almost useless plants of Punjab Government cost millions.
“The CM Punjab asks where is the corruption in the province? Let me tell him that here the corruption is, right under his nose,” Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said.
Bestowing minister’s brother
The Chinese Sinohydro company was ready to plant the same plants in less than 40 percent of its current cost but CM Punjab canceled the tender. Punjab Government is trying to bestow a minister’s brother in clean water project by these tactics and kickbacks according to PTI members.
The opposition also attacked the PML(N) Government with regard to the Panama case and said that Nawaz Sharif and his party is trying to affect the working of JIT by making it controversial. The only Qatari letter also failed to rescue Nawaz Sharif as it was rejected and London High Court’s verdict is very significant regarding London apartments.
The opposition leader warned that if PML(N) continued to obstruct the working of JIT with the help of other institutions and kept on threatening the JIT members; then PTI will not sit aside. PTI has also submitted reference against Nawaz Sharif in the Election Commission for not declaring his complete assets.
Corruption in motorway project
PTI further demanded the reinvestigation of motorway corruption scandal. The corrupt mafia of the country should be exposed and presented before the law.
“Inam-Ur-Rehman has confessed in a tv show about corruption in motorway and that Nawaz Sharif has received many kickbacks and commissions on the motorway project,” Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, another PTI member said.
The heated press conference of PTI members came up with serious allegations regarding corruption of Punjab Government that couldn’t be neglected as about millions and billions of Pakistanis are being wasted in lofty projects in the form of kickbacks.
