Punjab government has issued the notification to all the public libraries for keeping the book based on the life of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Archives and Libraries Wing, Services and General Admin Department of Punjab Government has just issued a notification for libraries for asking them to keep the book titled as “Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Dastan-e-Hayat” written by the Tariq Ahmad Khan, within libraries. A copy of the notice is available with Outlook Pakistan.
The notice also stated, “The Heads of the Institutions to purchased books out of available funds available with them for the said purpose.”
PMLN government is very well versed in using the taxpayer’s money to advertise and glorify its leaders and projects in apparently legitimate ways. In its current tenure, the party spent more than Rs 11bn on advertisements in print and electronic media, which is a modern way of buying the words of mouth.
The book might be helpful for students and learners who would be keen to know the life of Mian Nawaz Sharif which is already like an open book, according to the party leadership. Still, certain phenomena turn out to be true. History is enriched in the stories where governments patronized their eulogizers and made every effort to expose their writings, but our present is not much different.
We just hope that author didn’t face a tough time for getting his book approved to reach the libraries.
