Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is famous for near to reality acting and his perfectionism has started living the life of critically acclaimed Urdu writer Saadat Hassan Manto.
To make sure that personality of Manto reflects in his character in his upcoming film, the actor has adopted the lifestyle of Manto.
“Thanks to Nandita’s research on Manto, I feel I know him well enough to get into his mind and body. The body part is relatively easier. I need to dress the way he did, and as long as I’m playing him, I need to live my life the way he did. Alone. Writing words that created magic on paper,” said Nawazuddin Siddiqui, while talking to DNA India.
It seems that actor wants to immerse in what Manto used to be in as he told that He would shut himself away from all communication.
He said, “I plan to recreate Manto’s world around me. I will have my room re-furnished with the things that Manto lived with. I will dress like him, try to eat the food that he ate, sleep on the kind of bed that he did, wear the kind of clothes he did and talk like him. If I enter Manto’s physical world, I feel I can penetrate his mind,”
To make sure that he does complete justice to Manto’s character Nawazuddin Siddiqui wouldn’t work on another project during the movie’s shooting.
Manto was not only a writer; he was a whole new world. He had a different lens for seeing the World and a unique mind for speaking thoughts through bold writings that were not a custom in literature scene of then Sub-continent.
To play a role of Manto’s life, actor and director both need to do a lot of homework to take into account every single aspect of his life.
It is not surprising that Nawazudding Siddiqui is going to this extent for adapting himself to real mantoism, he has already left a mark in the industry with his perfect work that continues to inspire filmmakers and audiences.
