Nestle Pakistan has partnered with the Ministry of Climate Change, Pakistan for making its contribution to preserving the environment.
An MoU has been signed between the two entities that will be followed by Nestle’s efforts to align its activities with the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign of Prime Minister Imran Khan that he launched in October 2018.
What is Clean and Green Pakistan?
Actually, the program is all about keeping our surroundings clean, preserving the natural resources and building them.
The program focuses on Liquid Waste Management; total Sanitation and Hygiene, including Hygiene Awareness; Access to Safe Drinking Water; Tree Plantation to include a country-wide afforestation campaign; Solid Waste Management including a commitment to clean public spaces, streets and schools.
Nestle already runs few such programs under the title Nestlé Healthy Kids Program, Healthy Women initiative and Nestlé Pakistan’s Employee Volunteer Program (EVP).
It will start a drive to clean public spaces across the major cities of Pakistan. Besides, the water company has also planned to plant 50,000 trees across the country.
Already, Nestle has provided clean drinking water access to some 60,000 people under its Caring for Water initiative.
The company is also working on using 100% recyclable or reusable packing for all its products by the year 2025.
