Indian actress and director Pooja Bhatt is in Pakistan for a ten days tour, despite the recent tensions between both countries post-Burhan Wani episode.
Pakistani artists were banned from working in India whereas India’s Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association (COEA) said it would not show any films featuring Pakistani artists at single screen cinemas across four states.
Pooja Bhatt’s visit proves that certain persons in India are sensible and not extremists, who want to give peace a chance and who are not willing to surrender to Modi’s and BJP’s recent political philosophy.
The actress turned director said that many Pakistani artists had been offered Indian films, but they cannot accept them due to the tense relations between both the countries.
Most of the directors who were working with Pakistani stars have postponed the shootings and release of their films. Recently Karan johar’s film “ae dil hai mushkil “released with much mush Kil (difficulties).
Karan Johar promised to extremist elements that he will not sign the Pakistani actors in his films from now on. Actor Amir Khan also turned to Twitter to praise all the cast of the film except Fawad Afzal Khan.
It is such a disappointment that Indian big celebrities whom people follow fear to speak what is right, they all are intentionally bypassing the journalist questions about Pakistani actors working in Bollywood.
But again people like Pooja Bhatt are some fresh air in these humid days. Her father Mahesh Bhatt is also very bold and always speak his own versions and never bows in front of extremists.
Other Bollywood stars should follow their path if they want peace between both countries, want to share culture and if they are of the view that art has no boundaries.
