Former senator of PPP Jehangir Bader Passes away

Senior PPP leader and Senator Jehangir Bader passed away late on Sunday night at the age of 72.

According to family sources, he died due to cardiac arrest; he was also admitted to hospital due to kidney and heart disease.

Jehangir Bader was also one of the very close allies of Benazir Bhutto. Many political leaders took to Twitter and expressed their condolence on his death.

PTI leader Ch. Muhammad Sarwar also condoled on the passing of Jehangir Bader on Twitter.

He was the Secretary General of PPP; he contested in general elections for National Assembly in 1988 and won; he remained a Federal Minister for Political Affairs and  Religious Affairs in Benazir Bhutto’s cabinet.

He was also selected as the senator in first 1994 and then later in 2009 and was also the chairperson of Senate committee by Parliamentary Affairs. He served as the General Secretary of PPP since 1999.
