Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui, an MPA from PTI (Pakistan-Tehreek-Insaf) has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly, asking to dismiss the PSL Chairman Najam Sethi over the recent corruption scandal.
PTI MPA also asked to dismiss Najam Sethi from PCB (Punjab Cricket Board) as he had failed to conduct a free and fair PSL event despite the allocation of billions of Rupees to for the project.
Since the corruption scandal of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, players of PSL franchise Islamabad United, emerged on the scene, Najam Sethi is in hot waters as social media users and many key political figures are holding him responsible for all this mess.
Appointment of Najam Sethi on this key position was already controversial as he was in hot waters from critics who claim that Najam Sethi has been rewarded by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his favors.
Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had also mocked the Sethi for PSL corruption scandal while holding him responsible for rigging in 2013 General Elections in Pakistan.
Using his Twitter handle Khan said,
Joke: Election fixer Sethi to eliminate cricket spot fixing! Latter only affects cricket; elec “fixing” greater crime threatening democracy
