PTV sports has canceled its contract with the PSL Franchise Karachi Kings. The state channel also demoted the Director sports of PTV Dr. Nauman Niaz to the OSD for making an agreement with the respective team.
Dr. Nauman Niaz faced the wrath of state channel for entering into a contract with PSL franchise Karachi Kings as it is owned by Salman Iqbal owner of ARY, a private channel.
Outlook Pakistan has acquired the copy of notification that ordered the demotion of Dr. Nauman Niaz to the rank of OSD.
PTV Sports has also made contracts with Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, the other PSL franchises. In this way, revocation of any agreement with Karachi Kings and the most expensive franchise in the league would be an attempt to isolate the PSL team and begin an era of hostility that may even go against the very spirit of the game.
PSL season 2 which is scheduled to start on February 9 in Dubai is not supporting the event but a dynamic umbrella for uniting the people. Any such attempt of PTV Sports to end an agreement with a single franchise would alienate not only the single team but also impact the spirit of the game turning it from healthy competition to a rivalry meant to accomplish some political goals.
