Pakistani media sensation Mahira Khan and Indian film actor Ranbir Kapoor’s animated backstage chat at Global Teacher Prize event in Dubai stirred a controversy that Mahira was pleading before Ranbir.
According to media reports, there was not fight, or clash between the film celebrities and they were just engaged in a casual conversation talking on the grave issue of ban on media and actors in both the countries in post-Uri attack period.
Mahira was discussing how anxiously she was looking to be a part of her Bollywood debut film Raees in which she starred opposite to Shah Rukh Khan. Mahira couldn’t promote her film due to a ban on actors by Indian extremist parties that also put obstacles before the movie’s release.
At Global Teachers Award ceremony Mahira addressed the audience and shared the stage with celebrities like West Indies cricketer Brian Lara, Sri Lankan cricketer Aravinda de Silva, footballer Dwight York, UAE (United Arab Emirates) Prime Minister and ruler Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Al Moktoum and many other notable personalities.
Ranbir Kapoor who represented India was seen in a pleasant mood with Mahira Khan. The actor is shooting for his film in which he is playing biopic of the legendary actor Sanjay Dat, and thus he has put on weight to be his look-alike. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil would soon be seen sharing the screen with Katrina Kaif in his film Jagga Jasoos directed by the Anurag Basu.
