PSL Players suspended in spot fixing scandal

The second season of PSL has just witnessed the corruption scandal as two PSL players have been found involved in the spot-fixing scandal. PSL players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif from Islamabad United, have been suspended on the charges of corruption.

According to media reports, a huge network of bookies is in the hotels of Dubai, there are five more players on the watch list of ICC (International Cricket Council).

“Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have been suspended, and the rigorous and wide-ranging investigation by the PCB supported by the ICC will continue as part of collective efforts to protect the integrity of the sport,” PCB said in a statement today.

PSL President Najam Sethi remarked that PCB wouldn’t tolerate any corruption scandal and proper investigation would be launched on any such matter. He didn’t comment on this case specifically.

PSL players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif who have been suspended from the event can be in a dangerous situation as it may halt put an end to their international career too.

Islamabad United which is the defending champion has won its first match against the PSL Franchise Peshawar Zalmi.
