As technology advanced, mobile phones have become smaller, thinner and faster. Have you ever encountered the question in your mind, which are the world thinnest smartphones?
Outlook Pakistan present you the list here.
Vivo X5 Max – 4.75 mm (World thinnest smartphone)
At an impressive 4.75mm, the Vivo X5 Max is currently the world’s thinnest phone on the market. Manufactured by the Chinese phone giant, the phone was released on the 10th December 2014, and remains the thinnest smartphone around. The super slim phone has a 13-megapixel camera, along with a microSD card slot and impressive sound capabilities. The phone trumps the previous world’s thinnest phone – the Oppo R5s (see below), and weighs in at just 156g.
Another notable feature on the thinnest smartphone going is the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and multi-touch display. Running on Android, the Vivo X5 Max is an affordable smartphone for people looking for a slender display and easy functionality.
Oppo R5s – 4.85 mm
The Oppo R5s is another ultra-thin phone, worthy of a mention. At just 1mm thicker than the Vivo X5 Max, the smartphone offers a 5.3 inch screen, 13 megapixel Sony camera and 16 million colours. While it may not be quite the thinnest smartphone now, the Oppo R5s is 1g lighter than the Vivo! You win some, you lose some. As a result of this phone being so thin however, the device only contains a 2000mAh battery, and no room for a headphone jack. So for those of you desperate for one of the thinnest phones going, you’ll have to sacrifice some functionality.
The slim phone has a full HD resolution touch screen, with Gorilla Glass 3 support for gloved and wet touch. The device has a front and back camera, with LED flash and a hoard of scene modes to ensure each picture you take looks as good as possible. The Oppo R5s may be one of the world’s thinnest phones, but it doesn’t lack in functions.
Gionee Elife S7 – 5.5mm
The Gionee Elife S7 is the next thinnest phone in the world and comes in at just 5.5mm thin. It prizes itself on being the perfect fit for your palm, making in comfortable to hold and easy to use.
The Gionee Elife S7 also has a super AMOLED full HD 1080p display, for great colour experience. It also has an 8 core 64-bit processor for fast multitasking. Despite its slim build, the Elife S7 still has a 2750mAh battery and a 3.5mm jack. What it does lack is a memory card slot, and is only available with a 16GM memory and 2GB of RAM. The Gionee is another thinnest smartphone which provides a right balance of features and being slim.
Samsung Galaxy A8 – 5.9mm
The Samsung Galaxy A8 is Samsung’s thinnest phone to date. It is rumoured to be relaunched in 2016, but as of yet the original model is available to purchase at its 5.9mm thinness. The Samsung Galaxy A8 aims to marry both style and functionality, while offering Samsung’s familiar interface.
The Galaxy A8 has a 3050mAh battery, one of the biggest batteries so far, and offers an impressive camera with ‘fun selfie’ options, quick launch ability and wide selfie mode. The super slim phone has an impressive array of features and is available in pearl white, midnight black and champagne gold. For one of the thinnest smartphones in the world, this one nails both looks and functionality.
