Imran Khan has announced that 5 million houses will be constructed for the Pakistanis who cannot afford to build one in their lives. And the exciting part is that the government has nothing to invest in it apart from providing the land.

The pilot project has been started across the country including all four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

Who Can Apply For The House

Since the Naya Pakistan, Housing Scheme is designed for middle, lower-middle and poor class of the country so anyone can apply, but only one application from a family unit will be accepted.

As per earlier guidelines, a family unit comprises of husband, wife, and children.

Other than this, there are no criteria of income bracket, therefore, anyone with the monthly income as low as Rs. 10,000 can take a chance.

The Registration Process

One has to download a one-page form from NADRA’s website; you can download it from this link https://www.nadra.gov.pk/nphp/

Once filled, the form can be submitted to the following offices in the 7 selected district where the pilot project has just started. Of course, after the pilot project has ended, the scheme will be active all over the country.

  • Sukkur (DC Office)
  • Quetta (NADRA Registration Center, adjacent Helper Eye Hospital, Sariab Road)
  • Gilgit (DC Office)
  • Muzaffarabad (DC Office old secretariat)
  • Swat (DC Office, District Court, Mengura)
  • Islamabad (NADRA Mega Center, Blue Area)
  • Faisalabad (DC Office)

How Long It Will Take?

The government will need 60 days to process the applications, and after that, it will inform the accepted lucky ones.

PTI government also plans to create a Naya Pakistan Housing Authority that will start functioning in 90 days from now.

As mentioned above the government will not invest anything in Naya Pakistan Housing Program, so, the entire investment will come from the private sector. The government will act as a regulator to safeguard the interests of investors and citizens.

According to earlier details, financial institutions are getting aligned to provide loans to people for buying houses on installments.

    But submission of fee will be done through banks as previous, I guess.
    OTOH, would there be any preference given to disabled citizens?
    And how would NADRA ascertain if any applicant already has property in Pakistan or not?
